2-day Introduction to Information Security

The Information Security Foundation course is the first level in the SECO-institute's S-CISO certifcation track.

Introduction

Economic globalisation is leading to an ever-increasing exchange of information between organisations (their employees, customers and suppliers) and, consequently, an explosion of cyber crime. 

This introductory course, based on ISO/IEC 27002, covers the basic concepts of information security. The course covers current technologies and trends, enabling students to have an understanding of information security as well as the ways it can affect one's business. 

 

Target audience

The Information Security Foundation course is suitable for anyone in charge of handling information in any capacity. This course is also suitable for entrepreneurs of small to medium organisations who also need to possess some basic knowledge about information security. Finaly this course is a good start for new information security professionals.

 

Required knowledge

There is no prior knowledge required to attend this course.

 

Exam, course material and certification

The SECO-Institute exam is conducted by EXIN and consists of multiple choice questions. This course will provide you with all the knowledge you need to pass the exam. Upon successful completion of your exam, you will receive an "Information Security Foundation" certificate from EXIN. Both the course material and the exam are in English. The exam is not part of the course. You can register for the exam via this link.

 

This course is the first level of the Certified Information Security Officer certification track of the SECO-Institute's Cyber Security & Governance Certification Program. Successful completion of a Information Security Foundation course will provide you with the necessary knowledge to be able to continue with the Information Security Practitioner course.
